Austria: New framework agreement with Austrian construction company ÖBB-Infrastruktur Bau AG

For both Austrian Railways and their passengers the AURIS system offers many advantages:

Standard timetable information, real time dispatching timetables and carriage position information are transmitted from the Austrian Railway information broker system DDS to the AURIS system. This data is processed within the AURIIS system and transmitted to the end devices via the KoPIS interface.

Ad-hoc information such as train position and forecast data is also transmitted to the DDS system. The train describer messages and the track route clearance which trigger the arrival announcements, delay forecast and planned platform changes serve to inform the passenger of changes to the normal schedule in a timely manner. Signals form the train stop sensors trigger connection announcements for transit passengers at the large junction stations.

Text-to-speech allows for announcements with train information to be given in several languages.

Subsequent to the already successfully completed pilot project a further 800 Austrian railway sites will be run by the AURIS system within the next years.
