Kiel, Kölleda, Karlsfeld, 25th June 2010
The Traffic and Control Communication division of Funkwerk AG is presenting innovative high-performance platforms and solutions for cost-effective railway operations under the motto “Ge-neric solutions. Efficient operations”.
Generic platforms for efficient railway operations by Funkwerk IT
The highlights from Funkwerk IT are their innovative electronic interlockings Alister and Al-isterCargo. The advantages of these interlockings: Standard industrial components and a generic platform guarantee fast implementation and low life-cycle costs. The Alister platform can be adapted to the individual requirements of regional lines or depots and marshalling yards, as shown by the different applications.
New service in the field of signalling technology is provided by the BEST System with data management for interlocking engineering. Furthermore, the latest applications for training of signalmen and train controllers by means of operations and interlocking simulation are being shown.
For more efficient operations management in mainline rail networks as well as smaller regional, and industrial railways Funkwerk IT is presenting the advanced version of its operations con-trol technology platform Travis: Modular architecture, an extensive range of scalability op-tions and modern, maintenance-friendly computer technology make this a future-proof invest-ment.
ResourceManager, a further service of the Travis platform, is an updated real-time system for operations and fleet management. ResourceManager optimises management of staff and roll-ing stock during scheduled operations as well as in the event of disruptions.

A World Premiere from HFWK: UIC-FOCX hand-held radios
Professional mobile radio for railway operators is the top priority at Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda (HFWK): the company’s highlights at InnoTrans 2010 are the UIC-FOCX hand-held radios which are on show for the first time. Their outstanding features are dual-mode technology and IP Code 65 which makes these devices ideal for use in rough weather conditions.
New base station technology for analogue railway wireless communications according to UIC 751-3 (FESA 2010) and digital DMR professional mobile radio (FESA-D) together with the IP-networkable ELA technology CCU-4-NET complete Hörmann Funkwerk’s presentation in the field of stationary communications systems.

New functions and technologies for modern passenger information by Funkwerk IT Karlsfeld
The presentation by Funkwerk IT Karlsfeld focuses on a new display generation in different technologies. The outstanding features of this new generation: significant reductions in both energy consumption and maintenance costs. The highlight is the first standard LCD display with LED backlighting.
The CAIMAN Software Platform for management of passenger information offers a number of new features. They increase efficiency for operators and facilitate the handling of non-routine operational situations so that the necessary and latest information can be made available to passengers at all times.
In the field of mobile equipment, the new modular system consisting of the functional blocks visual and acoustic information, multimedia, voice communication, video monitoring with rear-view mirror technology, and radio connections is being presented. This system enables efficient creation of tailor-made solutions for integrated passenger information with interactive functions.
