New Product Solutions by Funkwerk at Trako 2011

The Traffic and Control Communication Division (TCC) of Funkwerk AG is presenting new applications for cost-effective railway operations in the fields of control and signalling as well as communications technology and passenger information systems at the Trako exhibition in Danzig from 11th to 14th October 2011.

Funkwerk Information Technologies is presenting the latest marshalling yard applications for the Alister interlocking platform. The system is based on high-availability standard industrial, communication and hardware components which are combined with advanced IT technology to design custom-made interlocking solutions for the specific requirements of passenger rail traffic, marshalling yards, depots and industrial railways. These solutions can be easily scaled to the required size, safety level (SIL 0 to SIL 4) and functionality. Further advantages of this platform are the short implementation periods and low life-cycle costs.

Professional mobile radio for railway operators is the top priority at Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda (HFWK). The company's highlights at Trako 2011 are the UIC-FOCX hand-held radios, designed in a variety of models - railfocX, dualfocX and shuntfocX - for use in different areas of railway operations. They can be operated in dual mode (analogue/digital), and thanks to IP Code 65 these devices are ideal for use in rough environmental conditions. A further development is the multi-mode GSM-R-Cab-Radio-Generation, MESA 26.
Funkwerk Kölleda is also presenting the communications work station KAP400 which in combination with the PABX DIKOS 310 integrates all stationary communication technologies including analogue and digital (GSM-R) radio.

The presentation by Funkwerk IT Karlsfeld focuses on a new display generation in different technologies. The outstanding features of this new generation: significant reductions in both energy consumption and maintenance costs - for example, with the new e-ink display.

The CAIMAN Software Platform for management of passenger information offers a number of new features. They increase efficiency for operators and facilitate the handling of non-routine operational situations so that the necessary and latest information can be made available to passengers at all times.

In the field of mobile equipment, the new modular system consisting of the functional blocks visual and acoustic information, multimedia, voice communication, video monitoring with rear-view mirror technology, and radio connections is being presented. This system enables efficient creation of tailor-made solutions for integrated passenger information with interactive functions.
